Insomnia Hypnosis Script

Tried self-hynosis for insomnia and failed. Anyone with experience of hypnosis who can help?
I had a friend read a pretty standard induction and deepener script from a self-hypnosis book.

Any advice on how to make hypnosis work better?
I tried the same thing, but while reading up on how to do it, I fell asleep, so I never bothered to finish.
